Filming at Jersey City Cemetery

Welcome to SopranoSue's Sightings. I'm just a fan, but I happen to be lucky enough to work in Soprano territory. In fact, the majority of my day is spent driving all around New Jersey. This is great, I get paid and I also get to see a lot of the filming and hear great little tidbits about the filming and the locations. I saw a lot of the filming from the first season, but I didn't pay too much attention because, I see working film crews all the time. Some major pictures were filmed at some of my accounts. When I got hooked on Sopranos, mainly because of theng credits, (hey I know where that is, I was there today, etc.) I suddenly became more interested.

Here's some Sopranos location background info... David Chase, the creator of The Sopranos, currently resides in California (Kudos to Jellobob for pointing this out per TV Guide, January 8-14-2000 issue). Originally he lived in Clifton, NJ, which is where I live. David Chase insists that the outdoor scenes be filmed in New Jersey, but some of the interiors (such as Dr. Melfi's office) are shot at Silver Cup Studios in Queens, NY. The location scout for the Sopranos, lives in Montclair (which by the way, will not let Sopranos film there anymore because of the violent scene in which Tony was shot). Some indoor house scenes are shot in the actual house Tony supposedly lives in, located in North Caldwell (out of respect to the owners and neighbors, I will NOT reveal the exact address of any private residence, so please don't ask), but at Silver Cup there is a set of the kitchen (the set's counter is a slightly different color and does not match exactly with the real kitchen).

August 10, 2000 Update
The Sopranos location film scout has been spotted looking at a house in Jersey City and a pizzeria on Main Avenue in Clifton, NJ, I will let you know as soon as I hear something firm about this, and don't worry I will check it out!

Also got a call from Doreen, that Michael Imperioli was seen hanging out in front of a store on Reade Street in New York City on July 27, 2000.

To Euro 2012 in Ukraine airport transfer in Kiev luxurious limousines.

Michael Imperioli is a New Yorker and had to take driving lessons for The Sopranos because, like a lot of people in the city who rely on mass transportation, he never got a driver's license. Rumor has it that during the filming of the pilot, he had a minor fender bender, but luckily they had an extra Lexus standing by, so it did not slow down production.
