Congratulations to the Giveaway Who Wasn't There Winners Sharla Swinney, Alex Rousseau, Diane Atkin, Jon Danziger and Elizabeth Mays!

John tells me that Tuesday's edition of the NY Daily News had a picture of shooting being done at Monmouth Race track... have you spotted Vinny Pastore (aka Big Pussy) in those "Due Amici Pasta Lite Low Carb Pasta" commercials? I also heard from Mike that Matt Servitto (Agent Harris) plays a concerned father in a Motorola Digital Cable ad, but I haven't caught that one... The December/January 2002 issue of Total Movie & Entertainment features an interview with the ever so humble Steve Schirripa (aka Bobby Bacala), and if you have an addiction to late night dating shows like me then you may have also caught him on last night's episode of Rendez-View, where he called the guy "a loser with a capital L."

I know a lot of you are interested in the wonderful Italian food that is part of The Sopranos, so the new Sopranos Cookbook is probably right up your alley. It is described as both a cookbook and homage to la famiglia... eMerchandise has added a new Sopranos Coaster Set featuring logos for these fine Sopranos businesses - The Bada Bing!, Beansie's Pizza, Nuovo Vesuvio, and Satriale's Pork Store. They also have a tremendous selection of other Official Sopranos goods including baseball caps, Ts, sweatshirts and the very popular Sopranos Baseball Jersey... and don't forget the selection of Sopranoland Logo Items, t-shirts are going fast, and the Sopranoland Post-it Notes (included in the Sopranoland Fan Pack) are perfect for letting everyone know you're a fan.

My "big" episode of Beat The Geeks aired last night. If you missed it, it will be rebroadcast this Friday (January 18th) at 11:30am ET/PT (12:30pm CT). And my final episode as the special guest "Sopranos" Geek will air on Friday, January 25, 2002 at 7:30pm ET/PT (8:30pm CT)... Speaking of Beat The Geeks, my new pal and co-star Paul Goebel (aka The TV Geek) will be appearing at The Improv at Harrah's Las Vegas from February 5-10, 2002, along with fellow funnymen Vinnie Favorito and John Heffron. If you are thinking about checking out the show, save some cash with this 2 for 1 Offer.

Happy New Year Everyone!

The series was also nominated for 3 AFI awards, including AFI drama series of the year and is once again topping just about everyone's Best of TV List... too bad we have to wait until September 2002 for new episodes.

Entries for Giveaway Who Wasn't There must be postmarked by January 4th, 2002, so get your postcards in the mail ASAP!

Vincent Pastore (Big Pussy) will be making a guest appearance on an upcoming episode of Fox's Grounded For Life as Claudia's Uncle Sal.

The Comedy Garden presents "Comedy You Can't Refuse" on Sunday, January 20, 2002. Hosted by Steven R. Schirripa (aka Bobby Bacala) and Vincent Pastore (Big Pussy) it will be a night of Italian-American comedy and music that harkens back to the glory days of 1950’s Las Vegas. Critically acclaimed Sinatra interpreter, Cary Hoffman will sing the songs of Frank Sinatra backed by Stan Rubin's eleven-piece orchestra, plus there will be performances by Frank Santorelli (Georgie the bartender), Adam Ferrara, Pete Correale and other guests. And in other news, SopranoSue recently added exclusive photos and an interview with Al Sapienza (aka Mikey Palmice) to her web site. Enjoy!... Joe D. shared that on November 10th John Ventimiglia (Artie Bucco) and Steve Schirripa (Bobby Bacala) held a benefit auction for the Twin Towers Relief Fund at the Horse Shoe Inn, in Saratoga Springs, NY. Items auctioned off ranged from various props from the show to autographed cast photos. John and Steve also held autograph sessions for those in attendance... And last but not least, TV Guide reports that the rumors about The Sopranos fourth season not airing until September 2002 have NOT been greatly exaggerated. Backstage at the Emmy Awards, Robin Green and Mitchell Burgess (the Emmy-winning writing duo), mentioned that although HBO's mob hit finally resumed production, new episodes won't begin airing until September. As a result of the delayed start, the show won't be eligible to compete in next year's Emmys.

Nov. 7, 2001

Oct. 30, 2001
SopranoSue decided it was time to start her own web site and it is now on-line at SopranoSuesSightings.com. She also tells me that filming for The Sopranos Fourth Season has been delayed and won't start until mid-November.

James Gandolfini as Big Dave in The Man Who Wasn't ThereCatch James Gandolfini (aka Tony Soprano) on the silver screen in both the Coen brothers film noir The Man Who Wasn't There,ng in NY and LA tomorrow and expanding to select cities starting November 2nd, and with Robert Redford in The Last Castle, which is in theatres now. Oct. 24, 2001
On October 15th Sopranoland celebrated its second anniversary!

While that was happening I was in Hollywood appearing as the Sopranos Geek/Expert on Comedy Central's new quiz show Beat The Geeks. They may only be half-hour episodes, but shooting five of them sure makes for a tiring 10 hour day. I have a lot more respect for folks on TV shows now! I want to thank my fellow geeks Paul Goebel, Andy Zax and Marc Edward Heuck, the show's host J. Keith Van Straaten, co-host Tiffany and the rest of the crew. It was a fun experience and everyone was incredibly nice, especially Lisa Heisser and Adam De La Pena who walked me through everything, even though I blew my very first line! Episodes will premiere on December 10th at 7:30pm Monday through Friday. I should be finding out when the Sopranos episodes will air soon, and I'll let you know so you can play along at home.

For those of you who analyze the Sopranos theme song lyrics, next Wednesday (October 31, 2001) will be a rare Blue Moon. A Blue Moon is the name for a second Full Moon appearing in a calendar month, and there hasn't been one in over two years.

The Ultimate Sopranos Fan Pack raised $810 to benefit the Twin Towers Fund. Thanks to high bidder ESmith6137, and everyone who bid on the auction.

Ivy the Sopranos GeekThe new CD from Jamie-Lynn Sigler (aka Meadow Soprano) titled Here To Heaven has been released. In the past Sigler has been seen poolside at the Mandalay Bay and at V Bar while on vacation, but now it's official, she's purchasing a home in Summerlin. "I never wanted to leave. I loved the weather. I'm going to enjoy waking and seeing the mountain instead of hearing taxi horns blaring," Sigler told Las Vegas Review-Journal columnist Norm Clarke. however, she will live with her parents on Long Island during The Sopranos filming. Sigler is also supposed to be appearing at the October 25th KISS (101.9FM) Cares Freedom Fest at the House of Blues, a benefit for the United Way Workers Response Fund. Visit her official web site at Jamie-LynnSigler.com
